Michele Gattullo

Ph.D. | Associate Professor | Head of IMRLAB

Michele Gattullo received his M.S. degree with honors in Mechanical Engineering in April 2012 from the Polytechnic University of Bari and his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical and Management Engineering in April 2016 from the Polytechnic University of Bari. From 2016 to 2022, he was a research fellow at the Polytechnic University of Bari. In 2022, he became an assistant professor and, in 2025, an associate professor.

Prof. Gattullo mainly develops his research to develop guidelines for an efficient use of Extended Reality (XR) technologies in the industrial field.

His research interests include:

  • Virtual, Augmented, Mixed Reality
  • User interface design and visualization challenges in industrial applications
  • Human-computer interaction
  • CAD modeling
  • Biophilic design of XR environments
  • User-centered design and evaluation
