Lorenzo Vaiani is PhD student at the Polytechnic University of Bari. He received his M.S. degree with honors in Mechanical Engineering on 16th December 2019 from Polytechnic University of Bari. For many years he has been involved in several research projects and patent writing activities concerning three-dimensional CAD modelling, advanced mechanical simulation and optimization, CAE applications for smart manufacturing, photonics and optomechanics. His current research focuses on fast simulation of deformable solids subjected to large deformations and its application on mechanobiological studies regarding mechanical characterizations of stem cells and optimization of biomimetic scaffolds for bone tissue engineering.
