Claudio Castellano is senior research scientist at the
Institute for Complex Systems (Istituto dei Sistemi Complessi,
ISC-CNR) of the National Research Council of Italy. Dr.
Castellano received the Master degree in Physics at the Sapienza University in
Rome in 1992 and the Ph. D. degree in theoretical physics at the "Federico
II" University of Naples in 1996. He worked at the National Institute for
Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, MD (USA), at
the Abdus Salam International Center
for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, at the University of Essen and at
the Sapienza University in Rome. He joined in 2004 the Center for Statistical Mechanics of Complex Systems
(INFM-SMC) which later became part of ISC-CNR.
His main research interests are in the statistical
physics of non equilibrium
and complex systems, with particular regard to interdisciplinary applications.
